Cause
Caused by Fusarium oxysporum, a soil-borne pathogen that colonizes root vascular tissue.
Symptoms
- Progressive yellowing of lower leaves
- One-sided wilting of branches
- Brown discoloration of stem vascular tissue
- Plant death in severe cases
Treatment Steps
- 1Remove and destroy infected plants immediately
- 2Apply fungicide drenches to surrounding plants
- 3Use resistant varieties in subsequent seasons
- 4Solarize soil before replanting
